Because windows today have an increasingly better insulation value, many people no longer see the usefulness of shutters. After all, many do not consider roller shutters as an aesthetic added value for a home, due to a limited choice of material and color. They can also cause noise nuisance in rain or hail, especially in the case of sloping windows. Not to mention the difficult maintenance. Sun-shading screens are therefore increasingly taking over the role of shutters. However, roller shutters cannot simply be replaced. We give four reasons why they are still worth it. 


              Why should you choose for shutters? 

1. Total darkness 
Do you also want to completely darken your home during the day? Then roller shutters are the only option. Screens and curtains are not enough to keep every line of outside light off. They are only capable of partially blocking the light. 

            2. Burglary prevention 
Windows are a relatively easy way for burglars to penetrate a home. By protecting your windows with shutters, you prevent them from being smashed. The safe feeling that shutters can offer cannot be underestimated. 

       3. An even better (thermical) isolation 
Even the most insulating windows benefit from shutters. Because every bit helps: depending on the season, roller shutters can keep the heat in and out even better. A pleasant indoor temperature at all times is the result. 

        4. Sound isolation 
Sounds are also more easily stopped by shutters. And that applies in both directions: inside you are not bothered by street noise, but you can also make it a lot louder without bothering your neighbors. Finally, it is important to mention that a roller shutter can also serve as a screen, but a screen cannot serve as a roller shutter. By only partially lowering the roller shutter, you can keep out the sun's rays and keep the light in at the same time.
